Some Rules of Tooth Stick (Miswak)



There are some rules for the use of proper tooth stick:
·         The width of the tooth stick should be equal to the little finger.
·         The length of tooth stick should not be more than the hand if it is long then devil sits on it.
·         The roots of the tooth stick should be soft. The strict roots of tooth stick create gap between teeth and gums.
·         If tooth stick is fresh then it is good if not, then it dip in to the water for some time.
·         Cut the old roots of the tooth stick as the old roots become useless.
·         Use tooth stick to the width of the teeth.
·         Use the tooth stick three times.
·         Wash the tooth stick every time.
·         Take the tooth stick in the right hand and hold it as the little finger in the lower side, the middle three fingers at the upper side and the thumb is on the corner of the tooth stick.
·         Use tooth stick first on upper teeth of the right side, then on the upper teeth of the left side, then on the lower teeth of the right side and on the lower teeth of the left side.
·         If you use tooth stick while lying down, then your spleen can enlarge.
·         If you use the tooth stick with closed hands, then you may have piles.
·         Use of tooth stick (miswak) is the sunnah of ablution.
·         Do not throw the tooth stick, but instead lay it down at somewhere with great care or buried it in the ground and throw it in to the river or sea.
