Defeat of Mother in Election Disturbed Meera’s English



Lahore, Shafqat Zohra Bukhari is mother of film star, Meera and she contested in the general elections for the provincial assembly from PP-83, Haroonabad. The candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Zia) defeated her in the general elections.
In the general elections, the successful candidate of PML (Zia), Chodry Ghulam Murtaza won the seat with 43,637 votes while her mother got only 225 votes. She started the campaign of her mother during the elections but she had to go Canada to get the Permanent Residence Certificate but she was failed to get the required certificate. She was ready to make her mother Chief Minister or even Prime Minister of the country but only 225 voters were agreed with her idea. She complained that there was rigging in the elections and demanded with the Election Commission to order for the re-election in the constituency. She talked with the media with her disturbed English and used ‘accounting’ instead of ‘counting’ in the elections.
