Kinds of Impurities or Uncleanliness

There are two kinds of impurities. One is visible and is called Haqeeqi and the second Invisible is called Hukmi.

The impurity which can be seen by the naked eye or visible is included urine, faeces, wine or blood.

The impurity which cannot be seen by the naked eye but according to the Islamic rules, it need ablution or a bath is called invisible.  Invisible impurity or uncleanliness is of two types. One is minor impurity which is Hukimiyyah or ‘Hadath Asghar’ and the second impurity or uncleanliness is ‘Hadath Akbar and Janabat”.
