The names and text of the
matter recited in the prayer which are:
a) Takbir (glorification of Allah)
Allah o Akbar
(Allah
is the greatest)
b) Sana (Hymn in the praise of Allah)
O
Allah, Thou art Sanctified and we praise Thee. Thy Name is Blessed and Thy
greatness is Supreme and none else is worthy of worship except Thee.
c) Ta’aw-Wuz (Seeking Protection of Allah)
I seek the protection of Allah from the accursed Satan.
d) Tasmiyah (Pronouncing Allah’s Name
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
e) Surah Al-Fatiha or Al-Hamd
All
praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Master of the Day of Judgment. (O Allah) Thee alone do we worship and Thee
alone do we ask for help. Guide us along the straight path – the path of those
upon whom Thou hast bestowed Thy favours, not of those who incur Thy wrath, nor
(of those) who went astray.
f) Surah Al-Ikhlas (Purity of Faith)
(O
Prophet) Proclaim that Allah is One. Allah, the independent of all. He begets
not. Nor is He begotten, and there is none comparable unto Him.
g) Ruku (Tasbih for Ruku or bowing down)
Glory be unto my Lord, the Majestic
h) Tasmi for Qaumah (rising from Ruku)
Allah hears those who praise Him.
i) Tahmid for Qaumah (to be repeated by the followers)
O our Lord All praises are for Thee.
j) Tasbih for Sajdah (Placing forehead on the ground)
Glory be unto my Lord, the Most Exalted.
k) Tashah-Hud or At-Ta-Hiyyat
All
the salutations, prayers and good things are for Allah. Peace be on you O
Prophet, and the blessings of Allah and His Grace. Peace be on us and all the
righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that none but Allah is worthy of
worship and bear witness that Muhammad is the servant and messenger of Allah.
l) The Holy Durud (Blessings on the Prophet):
O
Allah! Send Thy mercy on Muhammad and on his seeds as Thou hast sent Thy mercy
on Abraham and his seeds. No doubt Thou art Great and praiseworthy. O Allah!
Send Thy blessings on Muhammad and on his seeds as Thou hast blessed Abraham
and his seeds. No doubt, Thou art Great and praiseworthy.
m) Salam (Salutation)
Allah’s peace and blessing be on you.
