Terms of Forbidden, Almost Forbidden and Mildly Forbidden

Haram, is an act, totally forbidden in express terms. One who indulges in it, is a transgressor and deserves punishment. And the one who does not accept it as such (as being Haram), is an unbeliever (Kafir).
Almost forbidden (Makruh-e-Tahrimi) are such acts which through inference, are taken as forbidden. One who does not accept it as such, though not an unbeliever (Kafir), is a sinner.
Mildly-forbidden (Makruh-e-Tanzihi) is an act which if avoided merits reward but brings no punishment to the one who practices it. However, in a way, it is undesirable.
