Types or Kinds of Commands (Fard)

The commands (Fard) are of two kinds:

·         Fard-e-Ain

·         Fard-e-Kifayah

Fard-e-Ain is compulsory for all. Anyone discarding it without a genuine reason, is a transgressor and a sinner. Fard-e-Kifayah is that obligatory duty, which if performed, even by 0one or two persons in the community, will absolve all the others of that community from its obligations. However, if no one performs it, all would be held answerable and guilty.
